Month: July 2021
From next Monday (2nd August) our Monday sessions will take place at Frecheville Community Centre, Churchdale Road, Sheffield S12 4XT and our sessions will run from 7:00pm till 10:00pm every Monday in August except for the 30th. It would be REALLY, REALLY helpful for planing our Summer sessions if people could give us an idea which dates in August people are intending to attend.
We will still be taking covid precautions by requesting that when not actually fencing people wear masks and also provide assurances by email before the session that people do not have any covid symptoms.
From now on we will not be making use of Playwaze to register attendance at our Monday fencing sessions as they now want to charge us quite a bit for using them. Those wanting to attend on Mondays should email firstname.lastname@example.org to notify their intention to attend and can of course give a list of dates going forward. As of now all current covid proceedures, including the requirement for a covid checklist prior to sessions are required. When British Fencing issues new guidelines we will review our approach.
We will be changing venue for our Monday sessions starting 2nd August to Frecheville Community Centre, Churchdale Road, Sheffield S12 4XT and our sessions will run from 7:00pm till 10:00pm every Monday in August except for the 30th. The reason for this is that our current venue of Mount St Mary’s College is charging £35 per hour and as we do not now have grant funding to cover this, we would have to charge members a considerable amount more. Frecheville is available to us at £13 per hour. Frecheville Community Centre is a nice venue with space for four pistes so it should serve us well over Summer.
