Buccaneers Beginners Course!!!
Our next fencing beginners course will start on Wednesday 6th March!!! If you want to sign up, download an application form here – Beginners Course and check out our beginners course page!!
New Year Notice!!
- The club will start back on Wednesday January 9th 2013.
- Starting in the new year there will be a charge of £2.00 per session for anyone who uses electric kit provided by the club. This includes electric foils, body wires and electric jackets. Fund raised from this will contribute towards additional provision of coaching on Wednesdays.
- All fencers who use size 5 weapons will need to wear 350N breaches or trousers. Arrangements can be made to hire these by those who do not have their own.

Sheffield Buccaneers next fencing beginners course will start on Wednesday 14th November, 7.00pm till 8.30pm and run for a total of 6 weeks. All equipment will be provided. The course will cover the skills, techniques, tactics and other aspects of fencing with the foil and will be taken by the current Yorkshire Champion Helen Solly. Fencing Beginners Course – 26th September 2012
Sheffield Buccaneers Next Fencing Beginners Course will start on Wednesday 26th September, 7.00pm till 8.30pm and run for a total of 6 weeks. All equipment will be provided. Buccaneers Win Yorkshire Team Foil 2012!
On Sunday 8th July the Yorkshire Team Foil took place at Penistone Grammar School. A total of 10 teams competed with 3 teams from Sheffield Buccaneers. Our first team consisting of Yasin Rosowsky, Mike McKay and Nathan Doherty won against Louth Fencing Club in the final with a score of 45-28. The second team consisting of Adam Blight, Steve Watson and Alex Wakeman finished 4th and the third team with Abdelrahim Brown, Rauari McKay and Amer Qaiyum came 10th. It has been good to see Yasin back in action both here and in the club after a few years of not fencing and we say a very positive performance from all our first team members. Our second team would have hoped to beat Doncaster in the 3rd-4th play of having beat them in the pools but it wasn’t to be. Our third team, consisting of younger fencers new to senior events gave a very enthusiastic performance with many great moments. The overall position of teams was –

Buccaneers Back to Birkdale!
After our short period of the club being based at the Park Centre, we will be back at our normal venue of Birkdale School from Wednesday 4th July 2012.

Temporary Change of Venue!
For some weeks Sheffield Buccaneers Fencing Club will be at a different venue. The venue will be – The Park Centre,Duke Street, Sheffield S2 5QP. This is the same location as the club’s weekend training. The dates during which we will be there are:–

June 6th , 13th , 20th , 27th

British Championships Trophy visiting Sheffield Buccaneers
Tomorrow the British Championships Men’s Foil trophy recently won by Sheffield Buccaneers favourite fencer Husayn Rosowsky will be visiting our club. This is a very fine and large trophy with names of winners going back to 1898. We will be taking photos of club fencers with the trophy.
